When asked about their IQOS Iluma devices IQOS have stated that their research leads them to believe that their variety of heat not burn devices have the potential to reduce the risk put forward by some carcinogenic chemicals, such as carbon monoxide, by up to as much as 95%. IQOS devices heat the tobacco instead of burning it, which leads to a reduction in the levels of some harmful chemicals present within the vapour produced, making them a reduced risk alternative to smoking..
