The new Terea tobacco sticks have been created by IQOS for use alongside the Iluma series of heated tobacco devices. Due to their new heating system they are not compatible with other heated tobacco devices, including previous generations of the IQOS heated tobacco kits.

The IQOS Iluma devices induction heating  is the latest upgrade to ‘heat not burn’ technology. Research provided by IQOS suggests that heat not burn systems can reduce the risk of exposure to some levels of carcinogenic compounds such as carbon monoxide by up to 95% when compared to traditional tobacco products. This is because tobacco products such as cigarettes are burned rather than gradually heated, which releases a number of harmful chemicals that are inhaled by the user. Heated tobacco products are believed to reduce this risk substantially.

As the Terea sticks are heated and don’t reach temperatures high enough to cause them to burn, they don’t create any ash, tar or smoke when used correctly.
